Are the meals organic?Updated a month ago
The organic label is one of those things. For this label, at least 95% of all ingredients in the end product must be organically grown. Many of our ingredients are already organic and we are currently working on providing our customers with 100% transparency regarding the origin of our individual ingredients. We are also trying to gradually increase the proportion of organic ingredients in our dishes (although this is a huge amount of work, as organic does not always mean the best quality). We carefully check the origin of all our ingredients and our suppliers have to undergo strict quality controls.
The following products are already organic:
- Ice cream
- Epiquè Raw Cakes
- Smoothies
- Shots
We and our suppliers pay very close attention to the principles of organic farming and to using 100% free-range produce. We source all local vegetables from Germany and we do not use air transport to source other ingredients. In addition to 100% traceability back to the source (and not just to the retailer, as required by law), we work with crop rotations that contribute to healthy soils.
These also reduce the use of pesticides to less than a third of the legally permitted maximum amount (measured in the end product) and allow significantly fewer detectable pesticide residues. In this way, we contribute to the preservation of biodiversity and also support the creation of near-natural areas that serve as a source of food and refuge for birds and wild insects. Our strict quality controls and the careful selection of our suppliers not only enable us to offer you very high quality, but also to guarantee that no hidden additives or flavourings end up in our dishes.
All ingredients are labelled on the packaging and we are currently working hard to provide our customers with even more transparency in our supply chain and high quality standards.
